Printmaking Classes at The Annex
In addition to having my work available at The Annex in Bracebridge, I will now be teaching printmaking classes starting this spring! I am so excited to join the talented artists in the Let The Cat Go studio where community and art come together. I have truly missed being in the studio environment and look forward to sharing the magic of printmaking in Muskoka!
Multi-Layer Linocut Printmaking Class Series
Wednesdays 1pm - 3pm (May 14 - June 25*)
Join us for the first session with Artist Andrea McCallum! Over six weeks, learn the art of linocut printmaking with a focus on reduction prints and multi-layer processes. Each session will guide you through designing, carving, and printing your own layered artwork.
Additional printmaking and mixed-media techniques may be shared in later classes to compliment projects being created. Andrea has formatted this workshop with ample time for projects to be completed without any prior experience!
Bring an image or object you’d like to use if you have one, or come up with something in class.
All supplies provided by the studio. Minimum 4 participants to run the class.
Wednesdays May 14 - June 25 (1-3pm)

Project: This is a printmaking class! We are creating multi-layer linocut prints in this series. You will carve an image into a rubber block in two stages to create a layered image. (This works like you are carving a rubber stamp.)
You will roll out printmaking ink to apply it to your carved block, then use a baron or hard object to transfer the image onto the paper.
Step-by-step instructions and hands-on guidance will be provided throughout the whole experience, so you won’t need any prior experience or knowledge.
